SharePoint forms get native Power Automate trigger support

Microsoft is adding Power Automate integration for SharePoint forms. The roadmap item introduces a trigger for submitted list, file upload, and document generation forms, plus an action that retrieves form metadata, with preview in May 2026 and general availability in June 2026.
SharePoint form automation often depends on list item changes, custom naming conventions, or brittle assumptions about which form produced the input. A form-specific trigger and metadata action should make flows easier to reason about, especially where teams are collecting structured requests, files, or document generation inputs. It also gives builders a cleaner boundary between a form submission and the downstream approval or routing process.
Analysis
Review one SharePoint form flow that currently starts from a generic item-created trigger. Note where form identity, questions, or output format are inferred manually, then plan a simpler version using the new trigger and metadata action.
