Project Online shuts on 30 September and Power Automate steps that use it stop

Microsoft says Project Online retires on 30 September 2026. After that date, Project Online data, pages, reporting, APIs, and other service-backed features stop working. The same guidance lists Power Automate flows that use Project Online triggers or actions as things that will stop and must be redesigned or retired. Related Project Web App add-ins and Project-to-SharePoint synchronization also stop. Existing environments keep running until that date. Microsoft does not provide an automatic conversion of those flow steps to Planner or another service.
Until now, a flow that talked to Project Online could keep running even if nobody on the team still opened Project Web App. The connector looked like any other Microsoft 365 action, so a working approval or status update could sit on a shared connection for years. After 30 September those runs will fail at the connector, not at your conditions or SharePoint list. Colleagues will still expect the Teams ping or list update. The failure will look like a broken flow, not a retired product, unless you find the Project Online steps first.
Analysis
This is a change to act on only if you have Project Online in the tenant. Open Power Automate, search your flows and shared flows for Project Online triggers or actions, and either turn those flows off with a note to owners or rebuild the same steps on SharePoint, Planner, or Outlook before 30 September.
