Power Automate shows unattended desktop flow failure videos in the portal

Microsoft will let makers open video logs for failed unattended desktop flow runs straight from the Power Automate portal. The change is listed under Message Center item MC1465653 and enters public preview on 15 September 2026. Those videos will sit in Dataverse and appear on the flow run details page. When a run fails, you can watch the last moments before the error without logging onto the machine that ran the flow or hunting for local recording files. The announcement covers unattended desktop runs that already capture video. No broad rollout action is required beyond knowing the preview date and the Dataverse storage path.
Before this, a failed unattended desktop flow often left you with a vague run history line and a trip to the host PC. UI clicks that missed a button, a surprise Windows prompt, or a slow screen load lived only on that machine, so the person who built the flow and the person who supports it both spent time chasing files and remote access instead of fixing the process. After the preview, the same failure can show a short video next to the run record in the portal. That shifts troubleshooting from machine access to run history, which matters for shared ownership and for flows that fail quietly overnight. It does not remove the need for good triggers, retries, or alerts, and it does nothing for ordinary cloud flows on SharePoint, Teams, or Outlook. It does make desktop automation slightly less of a black box when the UI misbehaves.
Analysis
Treat this as a reliability aid for unattended desktop flows only, not a fix for everyday cloud flows. If you already run or support unattended desktop automation, before 15 September check that video logging is enabled where you need it and that the people who read failed runs can open the portal run details, then point your failure alert at that page instead of asking someone to remote onto the machine.
