Power Automate adds Power Apps forms to desktop flows

Microsoft plans general availability in September 2026 for using canvas apps as interactive forms inside attended Power Automate desktop flows. A desktop flow can pass values into the app, receive structured outputs and trigger subflows from app events; the delivery date remains subject to change.
Attended desktop automations often collect user input through basic prompts or brittle user-interface automation. Complex forms become difficult to maintain when screen selectors, application layouts or input requirements change. A canvas app can provide a richer interface while exchanging structured data directly with the flow. This introduces a Power Apps dependency, but it can make form-heavy automations more resilient and easier for workers to understand.
Analysis
Pick one attended desktop flow that collects several user inputs and sketch the same interaction as a small canvas app. Test the pattern only after the capability appears in your environment.
