New Copilot Studio designer shown handling contract approvals with AI clause checks

Reza Dorrani published a YouTube tutorial on 6 July demonstrating the Copilot Studio Workflows designer. The flow reads contracts stored in a SharePoint library, uses AI to detect risky clauses, routes approvals, and writes results back to the same library. The designer places triggers, AI steps, decisions, and actions on a single canvas. The example runs only in early-release environments that already have SharePoint Premium and AI Builder enabled. No general release date was given.
Until now most makers built approval flows by stitching separate cloud flows together and hoping the hand-offs stayed reliable. The new canvas removes that stitching layer but only for teams already inside the early-release ring and already paying for the required licences. Teams outside that ring still face the same trigger, expression, and connector problems they had last month. The gap between what the demo shows and what their tenant can actually run just became more visible.
Analysis
Watch the video once for the layout, then close it. Open the SharePoint admin centre, list every library that holds contracts or policy documents, and note which ones sit in early-release environments. If none do, park the new designer on your roadmap and keep hardening the approval flows you already have with reminders and run-history alerts.
