Microsoft adds restore option for deleted Dataverse records

The 2026 Release Wave 1 includes a restore deleted records feature for Dataverse environments. Administrators must turn it on separately in each environment before it works. Once enabled, teams can recover records that were deleted after activation. The feature does not cover older deletions or records stored outside Dataverse.
Before this change, a deleted record in Dataverse stayed gone unless someone had exported it or restored from a full backup. Most teams treating Dataverse as their main data store had no simple recovery path inside the platform. The new option reduces that risk for teams already using Dataverse, but it does not address the more common problem for non-developers: flows that fail without notice or overwrite data in SharePoint lists they actually use every day.
Analysis
Ignore the restore button for now. Spend this week adding error notifications and a simple retry step to every flow you already have running, because a record you can restore is useless if the flow that creates or updates it keeps breaking.
