Copilot-built Power Automate flows need a first-run safety proof

Collab365 published a new Power Automate problem on 24 August 2026 showing why a plausible Copilot-built cloud flow still needs human proof before its first live run. Microsoft’s current guidance says Copilot cannot inspect live data, validate field values, repair connection problems, or use designer run history to explain runtime failures.
Before Copilot, makers usually assembled a flow slowly enough to notice many of its decisions as they worked. A generated draft compresses that build time, but a successful save or green connection check does not prove that the trigger, dynamic fields, recipients, records, or connection identity match the real business process. The practical answer is a first-run safety gate: compare the original request with every generated action, isolate live effects, use harmless test data, inspect the run result, and record a run, revise, or escalate decision. That gives a manager or administrator evidence they can review without pretending the checklist guarantees every future run.

Choose one Copilot-built flow that is paused before launch. Use the problem’s first-run gate to check its trigger, actions, dynamic content, connection identity, recipients and safe test data before deciding to run, revise or escalate.
