Windows update resolves Teams and Outlook launch failure

Microsoft resolved an issue that could stop Teams and new Outlook for Windows launching or cause them to close on affected ARM-based Windows devices. The fix arrives in Windows updates released on 8 September 2026 and later; it applies to Windows 11 versions 24H2, 25H2 and 26H1.
For productivity workers on newer ARM laptops, a missing launch path turns ordinary meeting and email work into an immediate interruption. The original incident was already visible in the Pulse queue, but the resolution is new: affected devices now have a clear update route instead of a temporary workaround. This is still a targeted fix, not a general Teams or Outlook performance update. Teams and new Outlook are the affected apps; classic Outlook, Word and Excel were not listed as affected, so support teams should avoid broad remediation guidance.
Analysis
On any affected ARM Windows device, run Windows Update and confirm an update released on or after 8 September is installed before retrying Teams or new Outlook. If the device cannot update yet, use Microsoft Store to check for Auto Super Resolution Package version 1.0.19.0 or later.
