Windows update disrupts Teams and Outlook on ARM PCs

Microsoft says Teams and the new Outlook may fail to launch or close unexpectedly on ARM-based Windows PCs after security updates released on or after 11 August 2026. The issue is marked mitigated; Microsoft advises installing Auto Super Resolution Package version 1.0.19.0 or later from Microsoft Store while it works on a future Windows resolution.
A newly configured ARM-based PC can make this look like an account, licence or Microsoft 365 configuration problem. Microsoft says classic Outlook, Word, Excel and other applications are not known to be affected. That distinction can save workers and support teams from unnecessary resets or account changes. Surface Pro 11 and Surface Laptop 7 are among the devices Microsoft names as examples, especially when they have not yet received current Store updates.
Analysis
On an affected PC, open Microsoft Store, select Downloads and check for updates, then confirm that the Auto Super Resolution Package is version 1.0.19.0 or later.
