Teams organizers can delete meeting recap content

Microsoft Teams is adding a way for meeting organizers to delete generated meeting recap content, including recordings, transcripts, AI summaries, and notes. The message was published on April 23, 2026 and lists General Availability rollout from late May to early June 2026; shared files are not included, and deleted content is permanent.
Meeting recap content has become a second memory for many teams. Recordings, transcripts, AI summaries, and notes often hold the details people forgot to move into Planner, To Do, a project board, or the meeting notes page. Giving organizers a deletion control is useful for cleanup and privacy, but it also makes it easier to remove the only place where actions or decisions were captured. The practical issue is not just deletion; it is whether the important follow-up work has already been moved somewhere durable.
Analysis
For recurring meetings, agree what must be kept before anyone deletes recap content. Move decisions and actions into Planner, To Do, or the team's agreed task system first.
