Teams now lets organizers delete meeting recaps

Microsoft rolled out a delete button on the Teams Recap page. Organizers can now remove the recording, transcript, AI summary and notes in one action. Users with Copilot can also generate an AI recap without saving the recording or transcript. The option appears gradually across tenants and requires the Copilot licence. A separate Meeting Recap app and a Meeting chats section are also appearing in the same rollout.
Before this change, every meeting left behind a growing pile of files that lived only inside Teams and rarely fed into the task lists people actually used. Meeting notes, transcripts and AI summaries competed with Outlook flags, Planner and To Do, making it easy to lose track of what had been agreed. Now the company has made it easier to throw that material away. The practical result is that teams will either keep ignoring recap content or they will finally have to decide where follow-up actually lives before the meeting ends.
Analysis
Stop waiting for Microsoft to make recap content reliable. Set a standing rule that every meeting ends with one person dropping the agreed actions straight into the shared task list while the discussion is still fresh.
