Teams moves Android device management out of admin center

Microsoft is moving management of Teams Rooms on Android, Teams phones, Teams panels and SIP devices from the Teams admin center to the Teams Rooms Pro Management Portal. Full management workflows arrive during July 2026, redirects increase in August, and the overlapping admin center controls retire in September 2026. Devices may need the minimum Admin Agent version before they can be managed in the new portal.
Until now, a small Microsoft 365 team could keep device inventory, settings and updates inside the familiar Teams admin center. That working habit is disappearing, along with the assumption that an existing device will remain manageable without a readiness check. The risky devices are the ones that are offline, behind on their Admin Agent, missing from the new portal or tied to configuration profiles nobody has tested there. If those gaps survive until September, routine support work can turn into firmware recovery through an equipment manufacturer’s portal.
Analysis
Inventory every Android-based Teams device, confirm it appears in the Pro Management Portal, and test one configuration and update cycle before August. Record any device that needs an Admin Agent update or a configuration-profile import.
