Teams mobile keeps SharePoint page links inside Teams

Microsoft 365 Roadmap item 567314 says Teams on iOS and Android will open SharePoint page and news links inside the SharePoint app in Teams when that app is available. The item was published on July 8, 2026 and lists general availability for August 2026 across worldwide and government clouds.
Before this, a SharePoint page link in Teams mobile could push people out to a browser, which is a small but annoying break in flow. For teams that share project updates, policies, news posts, or handover pages in chats and channels, that handoff can make mobile reading feel like a second-class experience. This does not fix messy SharePoint pages or unclear Teams habits. It does remove one source of friction, so useful pages shared in Teams have a better chance of being opened, read, and returned to during the same conversation.
Analysis
When this reaches your tenant, retest one common Teams mobile workflow: share a SharePoint news or page link in a channel, open it on iOS or Android, and check whether people can read it without losing the chat context.
