SPFx Beta opens Copilot Components to every tenant

Microsoft shipped SharePoint Framework 1.24 Beta 3 and says the Copilot Components preview, previously called SharePoint Copilot Apps, is enabled worldwide in every tenant. Microsoft is targeting general availability for October; the preview needs no Copilot licence or consumption charge, but the final name, licensing and cost model are not yet settled.
Teams with existing SharePoint Framework solutions can now test interactive forms, cards and business-data actions inside the Copilot canvas without creating a separate data location. The component still runs on the tenant’s existing SPFx hosting model, so it is not a shortcut around the usual solution ownership, permissions or support decisions. For a SharePoint or Teams admin, the useful change is that this has moved from a narrow announcement to a tenant-wide preview. A small pilot can expose which custom solution, data boundary and owner would be involved before the October target date, rather than discovering those questions when a business team asks for an agent.
Analysis
Ask your SharePoint development owner to choose one non-sensitive existing SPFx scenario and run Microsoft’s sample in a test tenant. Record the data source, intended users, permission check and rollback owner before anyone treats the preview as a production feature.
