SharePoint may extend labels to OneNote and video files

Office 365 for IT Pros reports that SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business are extending sensitivity-label support to OneNote and video files, so protected content can remain available to service functions such as search, eDiscovery and data-loss prevention. The report could not be extracted locally because its site presented a browser challenge, so this private draft needs source confirmation before review.
SharePoint and Teams admins often face a blunt trade-off: protect a file strongly, then discover it becomes difficult to search, investigate or govern at scale. Support for more file types would reduce that operational gap without making labels a reason to bypass protection. The product detail still needs confirmation, so this is not a rollout announcement for users. If verified, it gives admins a reason to include OneNote notebooks and internal video libraries in the next sensitivity-label pilot instead of treating them as exceptions.
