SharePoint lists can now become live Copilot dashboards

Microsoft says Copilot in SharePoint can create interactive HTML dashboards directly from a SharePoint list, with the dashboard refreshing from the underlying list when it is opened. The same feature can create dashboards from Excel and CSV files, and is available to users with a Microsoft 365 Copilot licence.
For SharePoint administrators, a list that began as a quiet work tracker can now become a dashboard people use to make decisions. That raises the practical importance of the list owner, the meaning of its status fields and whether the source data is ready to be seen as a summary rather than only as rows in a list. This announcement does not introduce a new permission or governance control. It does make it worth treating list quality and ownership as an adoption decision: a polished dashboard can make unclear definitions and stale values more visible, not less.
Analysis
Choose one owned SharePoint list with clear status and owner fields, have its owner test a Copilot dashboard, and agree the refresh, review and licence expectations before promoting it to a wider audience.
