SharePoint Analytics uses rolling windows for weekly exports

A Microsoft Q&A answer on 17 June 2026 clarified how the SharePoint Analytics “Last 7 days” export should be read. The window is rolling, uses UTC time, and excludes roughly the most recent 60 minutes of activity.
Report builders often treat a weekly SharePoint export like a clean calendar period. That assumption can make a Power BI dashboard look wrong even when the import worked. For anyone building usage reports from SharePoint Analytics exports, the cutoff is now part of the metric definition. A Monday download does not automatically mean Monday-to-Sunday data; it means a rolling seven-day snapshot with a processing lag.
Analysis
Add the UTC cutoff and processing-lag note to your SharePoint Analytics import documentation. If you trend the data weekly, label it as a rolling snapshot rather than a calendar-week total.
