Power Platform moves apps out of default environments

Microsoft plans September 2026 general availability for an admin-centre recommendation that identifies and migrates canvas apps and SharePoint forms from the default environment into designated Managed Environments. The guided process can keep, quarantine or delete the original after migration, and its delivery timing may change.
Useful apps often begin in the default environment because it is readily available to makers. As usage grows, that location can complicate ownership, policy enforcement and support without giving makers a simple migration route. The guided move should reduce some administrative effort, but migration still changes the app's operating context. Connections, permissions, sharing and any SharePoint-form behaviour need testing in the destination environment before the original is quarantined or removed.
Analysis
Choose one widely used default-environment app, record its owner, connections, users and target Managed Environment, then use it as the pilot when the recommendation becomes available.
