Microsoft says Agent Skills for Power BI can create semantic models and reports from natural language or even a screenshot.

In its Build 2026 Fabric Analytics update, Microsoft announced Agent Skills for Power BI in preview. The feature is positioned as an agentic workflow that can create semantic models, generate reports and iterate on visuals, while Fabric data agents also gain stronger integration with Microsoft 365 Copilot.
Report builders already have faster ways to draft visuals, but the hard work has usually been agreeing trusted measures, clean models and stakeholder definitions. This is useful because it speeds up report production, but it does not remove the need for review. The risk is faster reports with the same old ambiguity about definitions, filters and whether the result matches the numbers the business trusts.
Analysis
Test the feature on a low-risk report brief and compare the generated semantic model against your current measure definitions before showing the visuals to stakeholders.
