Power Apps grids gain native visual columns in preview

Power Apps now lets makers choose Heat Map, Line Chart, Radial Dial or Star Rating from a Dataverse column’s Advanced Options, according to Inogic’s 23 September walkthrough. The preview changes how values appear in grids without changing the underlying data, and can remove the need for a Power Apps Component Framework control or web resource for those four supported visuals.
Before this preview, even a small visual cue inside a model-driven grid often meant custom code, deployment and maintenance. Makers either kept plain numbers or accepted a component that someone had to support. The native option shortens that path, but the data format becomes part of the design: line charts need comma-separated numeric values, while dials, heat maps and ratings expect sensible numeric ranges. A quick visual can still mislead users if the stored values or scale are wrong.
Analysis
Test one non-production Dataverse column with a supported visual and check the raw value, range and mobile/grid behaviour with a real user. Keep the existing display until the preview proves clearer and reliable.
