Power Apps Data Grid gives canvas apps stronger tables

Microsoft updated its official Data Grid modern control documentation on June 12, 2026. The preview control lets Power Apps canvas apps show records in a scrollable, searchable and sortable grid, with row virtualization for datasets above 2,000 records.
Before this, many non-developer builders had to make dense app screens by stretching galleries, stacking labels and buttons, then fighting layout and performance problems when the list grew. The new Data Grid gives those builders a more table-like option for request lists, asset logs, task trackers and approval queues. It is still preview, and Microsoft says text wrapping disables row virtualization, so it is useful but not a free replacement for every gallery.
Analysis
Try Data Grid on one non-critical list view before rebuilding a live app screen. Keep text wrapping off if you need virtualization, and check whether your columns fit the current supported types.
