OpenAI data shows ChatGPT shifts from questions to work

OpenAI has published new Signals data on how people use ChatGPT across countries. In its individual-account dataset, people at work were more than twice as likely to use ChatGPT to complete a task or create an output than people outside work, rather than mainly to ask questions.
The useful management question is no longer whether people are experimenting with chat. It is whether their task-based use has enough context, checking and ownership to produce work another person can safely rely on. The data does not measure every enterprise workflow or prove that AI output is good. It is a prompt to look at the real tasks already being delegated to AI and decide which deserve a repeatable brief, review step and saved process instead of another one-off chat.
