OneDrive storage enforcement now follows each user's licence

Microsoft has updated OneDrive for Business quota enforcement so individual limits align with each user’s licence entitlement. The related pay-as-you-go storage option began public preview in July for eligible commercial tenants, while education and government tenants are excluded.
An over-quota OneDrive does not only create a storage conversation. It can make a user’s work area read-only, interrupting file updates and handoffs at the point people need them most.\n\nAdmins need to distinguish tenant storage pressure from user-specific limits. The new enforcement makes historic exceptions more visible, so a small group of high-usage accounts can become an operational issue even when the wider tenant looks healthy.
Analysis
Use your OneDrive reporting to identify users with limits above their licence entitlement. Confirm their storage need, clean-up options and whether any pay-as-you-go choice applies to your tenant.
