Modern Date Picker reset bug trips up Canvas App forms

A Power Platform Community thread posted on 9 June 2026 reports that the Modern Date Picker control in Power Apps Canvas Apps no longer clears reliably when makers use Reset(). Community replies describe it as a known issue after a recent modern controls update, with Classic Date Picker or a variable-driven DefaultDate pattern suggested as workarounds.
Before this, many makers could reset a form after submit and trust the date control to return to a blank or default state. That pattern is common in request forms, onboarding forms, simple approvals, and SharePoint-backed apps where one screen gets reused repeatedly. Now the app can look ready for the next entry while still showing the previous date. For a non-developer maker, that is the kind of small control regression that can create bad records without looking like an obvious app failure.
Analysis
Open any Canvas App that uses Modern Date Picker and Reset(), then test submit/reset with a different date. If it fails, switch temporarily to Classic Date Picker or bind DefaultDate to a reset variable.
