Copilot Studio rebuild makes agent workflows easier to build

Microsoft released a rebuilt Copilot Studio on 9 June 2026. The update adds a streamlined authoring experience, a new agentic orchestrator, improved instruction following, and better support for agents that handle multi-step work. Microsoft says the update is generally available now. The source focuses on agent building, workflow design, testing, tools, and knowledge configuration inside Copilot Studio.
Before this update, many teams treated Copilot Studio as something for specialists or experiments. If agents failed partway through a workflow, most business users went back to manual work because the risk was visible. The rebuild lowers the barrier to creating more capable agents, which is useful only if the team also defines data sources, review owners, approval points, and fallback paths. Otherwise the agent becomes another clever place where work can disappear.
Analysis
Choose one repeatable workflow before opening Copilot Studio. List the data sources, owner, review step, and manual fallback, then test the agent on dummy content before connecting it to real Microsoft 365 data.
