Copilot adds recap language choice and Planner task actions

Copilot adds recap language choice and Planner task actions

Microsoft’s 31 August Copilot roundup says Teams users can now change the language of a meeting recap after it has been generated. The feature rolled out in August, making an existing recap more usable for a different-language reader without recreating the meeting. The same update says Copilot in Outlook can organise messages, apply categories, create folders, manage inbox rules, and act on meetings and events from chat. In Planner, Copilot task creation and task-information queries are due to roll out in September; Planner Agent status reports are marked Frontier in August.

A meeting recap only helps if the people responsible for follow-up can read and use it. Changing its language after the meeting is a small control, but it can remove one manual translation step before a team turns decisions into actions. The Outlook and Planner additions should not mean moving every task or inbox habit into Copilot. They are useful only where the action ends in the team’s trusted place, and the September Planner capability or Frontier status report may not be available to every user immediately.

Analysis

After the next multilingual Teams meeting, open the recap and test the language change before sharing it. Keep your existing task home as the source of truth, then test Planner task creation or queries with one low-risk follow-up when the September rollout reaches your tenant.
