Microsoft puts Power Platform on one shared AI roadmap

On 25 August 2026 Microsoft said Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and Dataverse now sit on the single AI at Work roadmap. The goal is one place to discover, track, and plan upcoming work instead of jumping across separate release-wave pages. The change is about how product direction is published and found. Individual features still ship on their own product timelines. How deep Power Apps canvas detail appears will depend on what content actually moves into the new surface.
Before this, citizen makers chasing Power Apps direction had to piece together release-wave PDFs, blog posts, and admin notes. That scatter made it easy to miss Copilot and Dataverse shifts, or to overreact to every wave headline while a SharePoint gallery and form still needed fixing. Now planning sits on one always-on roadmap. That does not make AI safer or formulas clearer by itself. It does mean you can watch Power Apps, Dataverse, and related AI items in one pass, then ignore the rest until something concrete lands that affects lists, galleries, forms, or Automate handoffs.
Analysis
This is a trend to watch, not a reason to redesign a working canvas app. Bookmark the AI at Work roadmap and once a quarter skim only the Power Apps and Dataverse AI entries before you trust a new Copilot draft on a real SharePoint-backed build.
