Fabric June update makes AI functions and live dashboards production-ready

Microsoft published the Fabric June 2026 feature summary on 2 June 2026. The update lists several generally available features, including Fabric Git integration for GitHub Enterprise Cloud with data residency, Fabric AI functions, data agents in Microsoft 365 Copilot, Real-Time Dashboards Live Refresh, Eventstream connectors for Apache Kafka and Azure Service Bus, Business Events capacity consumption, CDC with SQL estates in Copy job, and the Refresh SQL Endpoint pipeline activity. The same update also includes many preview features across OneLake, Fabric data agents, warehouses, real-time intelligence, and Data Factory. Fabric AI functions now use gpt-5-mini as the default model, with gpt-5.1 available for more complex transformations.
Fabric updates often arrive as one long monthly list, but reporting teams cannot treat every line the same way. A generally available feature may be ready for a controlled rollout, while a preview feature still needs a sandbox, owner, and rollback plan. The reporting impact is practical. AI functions, live dashboards, data agents, and warehouse automation can all change how numbers reach stakeholders, so the trust check has to happen before the output lands in a dashboard or Copilot answer, not after someone questions it in a meeting.
Analysis
Split the June Fabric items into two columns: generally available and preview. Pilot only one GA feature in a non-critical workspace first, and add it to the same change log you use for Power Query, DAX, and semantic model updates.
