Microsoft makes Copilot bundles permanent for small business customers

From July 1, 2026, Microsoft 365 Business Standard with Copilot and Microsoft 365 Business Premium with Copilot become permanent stock-keeping units. List prices are set at 23.50 USD and 32 USD per user per month. A separate promotional bundle of Microsoft 365 Business Basic plus Copilot is available at 21 USD per user per month after a 25 percent discount through December 31, 2026. The offer applies to one to 300 users with annual billing. The change removes the need for repeated promotional cycles or add-on purchases for small and mid-sized customers served by cloud solution providers.
Before this announcement, Copilot access for smaller organisations depended on time-limited promotions or separate add-on licences that expired or changed price. Teams and Outlook remained the daily tools while Copilot stayed optional and uncertain. Now the bundles sit as standard line items. Companies that once delayed the decision face a clearer purchase path, yet the underlying daily friction of email triage, scattered tasks, and meeting follow-up stays untouched until someone maps Copilot to those exact workflows.
Analysis
Do not let finance treat this as a default renewal. Run a strict 60-day test on one recurring pain, such as turning meeting recaps into tasks, and cancel the licences if the time saved does not exceed the added cost.
