Microsoft limits new agent oversight to apps built on the Power Apps MCP Server

Starting May 1, 2026, the agent feed feature will only support agents that run through the Power Apps MCP Server. The old activity-based feed is being retired. The change gives makers a structured way to create tasks and supervise autonomous agents directly inside model-driven apps. It is currently in preview and limited to English. Microsoft says the new feed replaces the previous activity view and provides dedicated oversight for agent activity.
Before this change, makers could watch agent activity through a generic feed that worked across different app types. The feed treated agent actions like any other system event. Now the only supported path for structured agent supervision runs through the MCP Server and model-driven apps. Canvas builders who stay on SharePoint lists lose access to the new oversight tools entirely.
Analysis
The agent tooling is moving to model-driven apps while your canvas struggles stay the same. Open the model-driven designer this week and connect it to one of your existing SharePoint lists so you know whether the switch is even viable before May 1 removes the choice.
