Microsoft launches Copilot Cowork to run tasks across 365 apps

Microsoft has unveiled Copilot Cowork, a feature that lets Copilot complete tasks and run workflows on behalf of users across Microsoft 365 apps.It turns user requests into background plans with checkpoints for approval, changes or pauses. Powered by Work IQ, it draws from Outlook, Teams, Excel, emails, meetings and files to handle actions like rescheduling meetings, generating documents and compiling research with citations.Users retain control as Cowork seeks approval before changes and asks for clarification when needed.

Copilot now moves beyond chat answers to execute multiple tasks at once across apps, freeing time for higher-value work.This enables coordination around content like meeting follow-ups or research pulls directly from work sources, with built-in safeguards for accuracy.
