Microsoft ends support for the Power Automate phone app on 31 August

Microsoft is retiring the standalone Power Automate mobile app for iOS and Android on 31 August 2026. The app leaves the Apple App Store and Google Play and stops receiving updates or support. Existing cloud flows are not turned off. Automated, scheduled, and instant flows keep running as before. Microsoft wants people to handle approvals in the Approvals experience inside Microsoft Teams, and to manage or run flows from the Power Automate website in a phone browser or from the Power Apps mobile app. Home-screen widgets that launched flows have no direct replacement. Push alerts that only lived in the old Automate app also need a new path, usually Teams or email actions inside the flow.
Until now, a common pattern for internal canvas apps was simple: user submits in Power Apps, a flow starts, and a manager taps Approve on a dedicated Automate phone app. That felt separate from Teams chat noise and matched how many non-developers explained the process to their teams. That phone-first story is ending. Approvals and day-to-day flow control are being folded into Teams, the browser portal, and Power Apps mobile. If your app already depends on mobile approve taps or Automate-only push, the risk is not that flows stop. The risk is that managers stop seeing requests, widgets disappear, and failure alerts never arrive unless you built Teams or email notify steps on purpose.
Analysis
Treat this as a change to act on before 31 August, not a reason to rebuild the whole app. Open every flow your canvas app starts that does approvals or mobile alerts, switch human decisions to Teams Approvals, and add explicit Teams or email notify steps with Run after for failures so you are not relying on the dying Automate app push.
