Microsoft Copilot now shows images from your files and meetings in its answers

Microsoft Copilot now shows images from your files and meetings in its answers

Between 15 and 29 July 2026, Microsoft 365 Copilot began displaying rich images from files and meetings directly inside its responses. That means charts, slides, and other visuals can appear in the answer instead of forcing you to open the source file to see them. In the same window, Copilot can list email attachments in chat, pull SharePoint Lists in through Context IQ, and on Windows let you capture a screenshot straight into a prompt. Agent Builder can also use one SharePoint list as a knowledge source, up to 20,000 items, though attachments and lookup columns are still out of scope. Rollout is gradual under Microsoft’s safe deployment model, and image access still follows existing Microsoft 365 security and compliance controls.

Until now, many Copilot answers were text-only summaries of visual work. You still had to jump into PowerPoint, Word, email, or meeting recordings to check the chart, slide, or screenshot the model was talking about. That break in flow is exactly where prompt fatigue and quiet QA time pile up for managers running recurring briefings, status packs, and meeting follow-ups. The change is not that Copilot suddenly “understands everything.” It is that grounded visuals and structured list context can stay inside the same chat thread. For people building repeatable AI workflows, that shrinks the gap between a one-off useful answer and a process a teammate can run without losing the picture, the attachment, or the operational list behind the judgment call.

Analysis

Treat this as a selective test, not a reason to redesign every process. Pick one recurring task that already depends on a slide, chart, meeting visual, or SharePoint list, and rebuild it once as a reusable Copilot workflow with fixed inputs, privacy boundaries, and a human review step before anyone acts on the output.
