Microsoft bundles Copilot AI and security into new top 365 plan

Microsoft has unveiled Microsoft 365 E7, dubbed the Frontier Worker Suite. It combines the existing E5 productivity tools with Copilot AI, Entra Suite for identity and network security, and Agent 365. General availability begins May 1, 2026.Entra Suite brings Zero Trust controls, which verify every access request regardless of location. Organisations must already have solid data governance and audit logs to deploy Copilot safely.Microsoft 365 E5 prices will rise 5.3 percent from July 1, 2026.

Until now, teams chasing AI productivity alongside tight security bought E5, added Copilot as a $30 user fee, and layered Entra separately for access controls. Rollouts meant juggling vendors, contracts, and compliance checks across silos.E7 fuses them into one SKU, but only suits organisations past the basics in Zero Trust and data loss prevention. The timed announcement before Microsoft's fiscal year end and the E5 hike creates a window for locking in current rates via negotiations.
