Meta quietly lets some Pages run more than 250 ads at once

On 22 September 2026, advertiser Bram Van der Hallen said Ads Manager told him the number of ads a Facebook Page can run is no longer limited. He pointed to one account spending under $100,000 a month that had 286 ads live, 36 above the long-standing 250 cap, with new ads still delivering. Since 2021 Meta has used spend-based live-ad ceilings, including 20, 250, 1,000, and a network maximum of 20,000. Meta has not confirmed a global change. The same account still showed an over-limit warning, so the interface and delivery do not match.
For years the 250-ad Page cap forced smaller spenders to kill live tests to make room for new ones. That made creative volume look like a platform problem. In practice most tiny product businesses never hit 250 live ads because they lacked enough distinct offers, proof, and traffic to justify that many variants. If this is a real rollout, the constraint moves from Meta’s ceiling to your own judgement. You can leave more tests running, but you can also drown a small account in lookalike creatives that burn budget without teaching you which offer converts. The warning still firing while ads deliver is a reminder that this is an unannounced, possibly account-specific glitch, not a new playbook.
Analysis
Treat this as a trend to watch, not a reason to spin up dozens of extra ads. Open Ads Manager, note whether your Page shows the unlimited message, and only then add tests if you already have a winning offer and a weekly prune list. Do not use extra headroom as an excuse to delay landing-page, proof, and follow-up work.
