Viva Connections can put the intranet inside Teams

A SharePoint Support guide recommends using a SharePoint home site with Viva Connections to surface an intranet through Microsoft Teams. It says organisations without that integration may miss 30–50% of their potential audience, but does not provide a published measurement method or customer dataset for that estimate.
A home site can complement a Viva Connections experience, but Microsoft does not require one. The practical value is bringing navigation, news, resources, and common tasks closer to where people already work, then checking whether they use them. The useful decision is not whether to promise a percentage uplift. It is whether the intranet has named owners, current content, workable navigation, and a small analytics baseline that can show whether the Teams entry point improves real discovery for your organisation.
Analysis
Confirm who owns the Connections experience, home site, navigation, and content rhythm; then use Connections and SharePoint analytics to compare your own reach and task completion before expanding the dashboard.
