GPT-6 Astra turns computer use into an admin decision

OpenAI says GPT-6 Astra is now available in ChatGPT Work, Codex, and the API, with enterprise access off by default at launch. The company also describes controls that can limit approved websites and desktop apps, uploads and downloads, browsing history, and when a person must confirm a consequential action.
Computer use changes the planning question from which prompts people should try to which business systems an agent may touch. A capable model can work through apps that do not expose an API, so a loose pilot can reach more of the real workflow than a chat-only trial. That makes the control design part of the work, not a later security review. Teams need a narrow first task, a named owner, explicit app and data boundaries, and a decision about which actions must stop for human confirmation.
Analysis
Choose one read-heavy workflow before enabling Astra broadly. Write down the allowed apps and data, the action that requires confirmation, the person who reviews the output, and how you will revoke access if the pilot crosses its boundary.
