Google Ads generates short videos from static images
Google Ads has added Veo, its AI video generator, inside Asset Studio. Advertisers upload up to three images to create high-quality videos up to 10 seconds long with smooth motion. The videos slot directly into ad templates for YouTube campaigns, including auto-generated Demand Gen ones. Veo works alongside Nano Banana, another tool for creating or swapping images. It is available now across all campaign types. Videos are limited to 10 seconds, with a maximum of three input images.
Small advertisers previously needed production teams or agencies to make video ads that kept pace with YouTube trends like NFL highlights or podcast clips. Most stuck to static images, missing out on formats that drive higher engagement. Veo changes that by turning basic product photos into tailored videos in minutes, without extra costs or skills. Demand Gen campaigns using at least three unique videos lift brand consideration and purchase intent far more than image-only ones, letting small businesses compete on creative scale.
