Forms adds Surveys Agent and Copilot Chat
Microsoft's roadmap lists Surveys Agent and Copilot Chat for Microsoft Forms, with the item published on January 29, 2026 and updated on May 22. The feature is marked as rolling out in May 2026 and is described as helping Microsoft 365 Copilot users improve forms, draft and send invitations, and analyze results.
Forms is a good test of whether Copilot can help with everyday business work without turning into abstract AI theatre. Surveys often fail because the questions are leading, too broad, or hard to act on once the results arrive. The agent may speed up survey creation and analysis, but it should not replace judgement about question quality, audience fit, or what decision the survey is meant to support. The useful adoption question is not whether Copilot can produce a survey; it is whether the survey gets better answers.
