Copilot turns lists into live reporting dashboards

Microsoft’s August SharePoint update lets Copilot turn a SharePoint List into an interactive HTML dashboard that remains connected to the list. It can also create dashboards from Excel and CSV files, with the source page stating that the dashboard refreshes when opened.
Report builders often rebuild a visual after the underlying list changes, or point colleagues at a static export. This gives a different route for a lightweight operational view when the data already lives in a maintained SharePoint List, Excel file, or CSV. The useful change is not proof that every list should become a Copilot dashboard. It is a chance to test whether a live view makes reporting clearer without hiding data-quality, permission, ownership, or filtering problems in the source.
Analysis
Pick one owned SharePoint List with stable status fields and create a small pilot dashboard. Test its filters and totals against the list with real users before using it for a leadership update.
