Copilot Studio lite agents generate Office files

Microsoft's July 1, 2026 Copilot release notes say agents built with Copilot Studio lite can generate PowerPoint decks, Excel spreadsheets, and Word documents through chat. The generated files are saved to OneDrive.
For many teams, the risk with Copilot is not only the answer in the chat window. It is the moment that answer becomes a file someone stores, forwards, edits, or treats as a finished deliverable. This update makes lightweight agents more useful, but it also raises the bar for review habits. Adoption leads should decide how agent-created files are named, stored, labelled, and checked before people use the feature for real project work.
Analysis
Run one low-risk agent-generated Word, Excel, or PowerPoint file and inspect the OneDrive location, permissions, labels, and file quality. Turn the result into a short review rule before wider use.
