Microsoft Teams introduces /createworkflow slash command to build automations directly in chats without switching apps. Microsoft adds audience-based release channels for Copilot features in Microsoft 365: Frontier for testers, Standard for most users, Deferred for slower adoption. Admins select channels via restructured Message Center with AI insights. This addresses rapid updates disrupting workflows, allowing organizations to match rollout speed to readiness and reduce adaptation time.

Microsoft 365 Copilot introduces a Researcher agent that pulls data from emails, Teams chats, and documents to create meeting briefings. It combines OpenAI and Anthropic models for critique, council, internal research, and prep tasks. This eliminates manual searching across apps, saving 30+ minutes per meeting by generating nuanced summaries from scattered company data.

Microsoft updated Copilot in Word to support track changes and comments natively. The AI now edits existing text, explains changes in margins via Work IQ from company files, and is available in Frontier preview for Windows. This shifts it from overwriting generator to collaborative editor, reducing fix-up time in workflows.

Microsoft's Copilot Planner Agent scans emails, Teams chats, and meeting transcripts to extract action items and route them to My Tasks or basic Planner boards. It integrates with Outlook sidebar for converting threads into scheduled tasks. Limited to Copilot license holders in Frontier program; uses existing basic plans only. Reduces manual entry and context switching.
