Microsoft moves Copilot connector controls before October deadline

Microsoft updated its federated Copilot connector guidance on August 27 after retiring the Set-FederatedConnectorToggle command-line toggle on August 25. Tenants that previously used that global switch must use Allowed agent types by October 20 if they want the same all-connector block to continue.
A global connector block can be an intentional governance control, not a forgotten command. If that control expires without a replacement, newly available federated connectors could become available under a policy decision nobody has revisited. The replacement also changes the operating model from one broad switch to a setting that can support selective connector decisions. That makes the October date a useful prompt to document who owns the decision, what is allowed, and how future connectors will be assessed.
Analysis
Check whether your tenant ever used Set-FederatedConnectorToggle and, if it did, record the intended Allowed agent types setting before October 20.
