Community call shows Markdown to PDF flows and a free agent learning path

The July 2026 Power Platform community call, summarized on 15 July, highlighted a demo by John Liu on turning Markdown documents into PDFs with Power Automate. The pattern sits alongside newer SharePoint and OneDrive Markdown support, so makers can store simple text files and still deliver a polished PDF. Scott Durow also ran a hands-on segment on Copilot Agent Academy (aka.ms/agent-academy), covering how to start building agents and related MCP integrations. The summary links to the call recording, community samples, and Sharing is Caring sessions. It is a community signal, not an official product release note, and one other demo was rescheduled.
Until recently, many internal apps still leaned on awkward Word templates, HTML-to-PDF hacks, or manual export when a user needed a clean document after a form submit or approval. SharePoint lists held the data, but the final PDF step often lived outside the flow or looked inconsistent. Markdown support plus a clear Automate pattern changes that path. You can keep content as plain, versionable text, generate the PDF in the flow that already handles your approval or notification, and hand the file back to SharePoint or email without a separate document system. Agent Academy is the longer-term track: structured practice for Copilot agents when your team is ready, not a reason to rebuild every canvas app tomorrow.

This is a pattern worth testing, not a platform overhaul. Watch the Markdown-to-PDF segment in the call recording, then pick one real output your app already promises (request summary, approval record, or checklist) and sketch it as a short Markdown template before you touch Agent Academy.
