Claude Projects now run parallel work threads from one brief

Anthropic redesigned Claude Projects so a single goal and shared context can drive coordinated work instead of a static folder of files. In the new beta, Claude scopes the request, opens parallel threads, reviews what each thread produces, and assembles the final result. Each thread is a full cloud session with its own branch, while a coordinator keeps shared memory, files, and artifacts in common. Users can steer from the main chat or inside a thread, including from a phone, and work can continue after they step away. Beta access started September 17, 2026 for select Claude Pro and Max users on Claude Code cloud sessions, then expands over the following week and later to broader Claude, Team, and Enterprise plans. Existing projects keep working until upgraded. Multiple threads can hit usage limits faster, and overlapping changes can create merge conflicts.
Until now, most professionals treated Projects like a better filing cabinet: dump briefs, examples, and standards in once, then still run work as separate chats that forget decisions and force manual handoffs. Multi-part tasks meant splitting sessions yourself, restating context, and stitching outputs by hand. The redesign turns a Project into an operating layer. Shared memory carries project details and preferences across threads, and the system is meant to scope, delegate, check, and assemble rather than wait for you to babysit every step. For anyone building repeatable AI workflows, the useful idea is the pattern itself: one brief, parallel workstreams, common context, and a clear review pass before the result is trusted.
Analysis
Treat this as a workflow pattern to watch, not an immediate team rollout. Usage will climb quickly and access is still limited. Take one recurring multi-part task you already run with AI and rewrite it as a single project brief with shared context, named workstreams, and an explicit human review bar your team can reuse even before the new Projects reach you.
