Claude projects now run parallel coding threads from one goal

On 17 September 2026 Anthropic redesigned Projects in Claude Code. Instead of treating a project mainly as a folder of chats and files, you set a goal and Claude scopes the work, spins up parallel threads, reviews what each produces, and assembles the result. Each thread is a full cloud Claude Code session on its own branch. Threads share memory and a growing library of files and artifacts. You can steer from the main project chat or inside a single thread, including from mobile. The redesign is in beta for selected Pro and Max users who already use cloud sessions and do not have existing web or desktop projects. Access is meant to widen over the coming week, then to more Claude users and Team or Enterprise later. Existing projects keep working until upgraded. Threads are cloud-only for now. Parallel sessions can hit usage limits faster.
Solo product work used to mean one long chat or a stack of separate sessions you had to stitch together by hand. Multi-day jobs such as cutting latency, retiring an API, or landing several related PRs stayed serial because context and review lived in your head. That structure has shifted. Claude can now hold the goal, fan work across branches, and keep shared memory while you intervene only where judgement matters. For a tiny SaaS or info-product shop the upside is real on bounded engineering chores. The trap is the same old one with a higher burn rate: faster parallel building makes it easier to hide in product work while offer, proof, traffic, and trial conversion still decide revenue.
Analysis
Treat this as a controlled test, not a green light to expand scope. If you are in the beta, pick one multi-part goal already tied to a live bottleneck such as a conversion-critical path or a painful deprecation, run it under the new project, and watch quota and merge noise as hard limits. Stop when the business outcome is clear enough to ship or kill, not when every thread looks tidy.
