Claude Code weekly limits drop after summer bonus ends

Anthropic's 50 percent Claude Code weekly-limit promotion ran from 13 May through 13 September 2026 at 11:59 PM PT for Pro, Max, Team, and seat-based Enterprise plans. From 14 September, standard weekly limits sit permanently 25 percent above the pre-promotion baseline, which is about 17 percent below the summer cap. Five-hour rolling limits and prices did not change. Other Claude products were not part of this reset. Anthropic said it had planned to return to original weekly levels and instead kept a partial increase, now documented in its own help centre.
Through the summer, many coding sessions were sized as if 150 units of weekly capacity were the new normal, while the five-hour throttle stayed the same. That made long agent runs and heavy refactors feel unlimited until the weekly wall appeared, often late in the week. Capacity is now 125 units on that same 100-unit pre-May scale. The session clock still feels familiar, so the surprise is not a mid-session cutoff. It is a shorter week of paid coding before you stall, especially if you spent July and August treating the promo cap as the product.
Analysis
This is a change to act on if your Claude Code week was built around the promo cap, not a reason to switch tools. Pull last month's weekly usage, mark anything that only fitted because of the extra 50 percent, and park or batch the lowest-revenue loops so the weekly limit is spent on shipping and support, not extra polish.
