SharePoint buttons make Copilot skills easier to discover

SharePoint buttons make Copilot skills easier to discover

João Ferreira shows how the updated SharePoint Button web part can open Copilot in SharePoint with a prepared prompt. The button can call a named site skill without making users remember its name, but the Copilot action is visible only to appropriately licensed users.

SharePoint skills have often depended on the maker telling colleagues what the skill is called and how to invoke it. That discovery gap leaves useful automations sitting unused even after the hard build work is finished. A page of clearly named buttons puts each skill where the team already works and gives every run the same starting instruction. It does not solve weak prompts, licensing gaps or poor permissions, so the page still needs an owner and a tested audience.

Analysis

Create a small skills index page for one licensed team. Add one button per proven skill, label the licence requirement, and watch which buttons people actually use for two weeks.
