Microsoft links Purview sensitivity labels to Viva Engage communities

Microsoft updated Viva Engage to support Purview sensitivity labels, syncing access controls automatically across communities, Microsoft 365 groups, and linked SharePoint sites. Rollout started March 31, 2026, ends April 2026. Strict labels enforce access but do not hide communities from company-wide search, risking unwanted discovery and support requests.
