Microsoft cuts Copilot access in Word Excel PowerPoint and OneNote
Microsoft ends free Copilot access in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote for basic Microsoft 365 license holders starting April 15, 2026. Limited chat remains in the main app and Outlook. Full app integration requires a separate paid Copilot license. Teams lose seamless AI for drafting, data analysis and note summarization unless they upgrade.
